According to a June 24 report by Russia’s Sputnik, U.S. President Donald Trump said that revenue obtained by the United States from selling millions of barrels of oil shipped out of Venezuela has exceeded 28 times the amount spent on military operations in that country in January 2026.

The report stated that in early January of this year, Washington launched an attack on Caracas and forcibly took control of Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife. Subsequently, Trump announced his intention to control Venezuelan oil and profit from selling it.

Speaking to supporters in Pennsylvania, Trump said: “We are now making a lot of money from Venezuela. It took us only 48 minutes to win that war. We have fully recovered the cost of the war, with a return rate of more than 28 times, even more, at least 28 times. We have recovered all military expenditures because we shipped millions of barrels of oil out of there.”
